Conference – CALL FOR PRESENTERS: With our WoodWorks Annual Conference now confirmed for Hastings in October we are now looking for speakers. Your feedback clearly shows you want to hear and see speakers with case study projects showcasing Innovations in mass timber for making better buildings, workplaces and living spaces.
Thanks to enthusiastic locals, we have 2 local site visits planned, so mark your diary now. We are always looking for a mix speaker perspectives from people in architectural, construction management, quantity surveying and design/engineering.

And one to end the issue on... The old photograph
Curious when I found two black-and-white negatives in a drawer, I had them made into prints. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they were of a younger, slimmer me, taken on one of my first dates with my husband.
When I showed him the photos, his face lit up.
“Wow, look at that!” he said with appreciation. “It’s my old Plymouth!”
Antiques Roadshow
Paddy took 2 stuffed dogs to the ‘Antiques Roadshow’.
“Ooh!” said the presenter, “This is a very rare set, produced by the celebrated Johns Brothers taxidermists who operated in London at the turn of last century.
Do you have any idea what they would fetch if they were in good condition?”
“…Sticks?” Paddy replied.
