Engineered timber continues to gain momentum across New Zealand and beyond. Techlam’s glulam solutions featured in some of the country’s most ambitious and sustainable projects, including New Zealand’s largest mass timber office building on Devonport Road, now home to Tauranga City Council. They also secured supply for the redevelopment of Palmerston North Airport’s new terminal, and further afield, were awarded the structural package for the Tonga Parliament redevelopment. More exciting projects are already lined up for early 2026.

Welcome
Overall indicators are positive for business leaders for the coming year. Right now mass timber is also looking positive. With the Beehive set to have a mass timber neighbour with the Museum St building, we are confident it will provide positive PR for wood. Technically a lot of work is evident with pre-planning and modular systems really starting to come into their own for the market. Got a good case study or potential site for our community to visit and come together for a WoodWorks regional seminar? You call and we’ll make it happen. Enjoy the short week.
