CWC Handbook for Construction Moisture Management of Mass Timber Buildings

Moisture management doesn’t begin when rain appears in the forecast. It begins during project planning and continues through construction, commissioning, and occupancy.

The Canadian Wood Council’s new Handbook for Construction Moisture Management of Mass Timber Buildings brings together current industry knowledge and observations from decades of mass timber construction.

The free handbook provides a practical framework for helping project teams proactively manage moisture risk and protect mass timber throughout the project life cycle.

Welcome

Greetings from your WoodWorks team. Cibao International Airport’s new terminal features a flowing timber roof inspired by the surrounding landscape including a timber roof engineered and installed by HESS TIMBER using long-span glulam beams – check out the great video.

Theres a lot of angst in the design industry around AI renders. The RM Designs team will continue using a handcrafted, feasibility-led design process focused on function, outcomes, problem-solving, and budget certainty rather than premature AI renders.

The Canadian Wood Council’s free handbook offers practical guidance for managing moisture risks in mass timber buildings from early planning through construction, commissioning, and occupancy.

One for the architects — Finnish firm Elementic has launched MO6 Eternal, a lightweight, rough-textured, off-black wall tile made from forestry industry offcuts and composed almost entirely of carbon. The material is positioned as a carbon-storing surface for buildings.
