World’s most carbon-storing building

20 October 2026

Finnish firm Elementic has unveiled MO6, a wall-surfacing material produced from forestry industry offcuts that is almost pure carbon.

Materials technology company Elementic established MO6 as a brand in May, with the debut collection, MO6 Eternal, launched at trade fair Habitare.

Theres a lot of angst in the design industry around AI renders. The RM Designs team will continue using a handcrafted, feasibility-led design process focused on function, outcomes, problem-solving, and budget certainty rather than premature AI renders.

The Canadian Wood Council’s free handbook offers practical guidance for managing moisture risks in mass timber buildings from early planning through construction, commissioning, and occupancy.

One for the architects — Finnish firm Elementic has launched MO6 Eternal, a lightweight, rough-textured, off-black wall tile made from forestry industry offcuts and composed almost entirely of carbon. The material is positioned as a carbon-storing surface for buildings.
